Stranded women can dial toll-free number 1091Kozhikode: Buoyed by the success of the Janamaitri project, the city police have decided to extend the community-policing scheme through the women’s helpline to help those in distress.The initiative, the first of its kind in the State, is to help women and children stranded at railway and bus stations to get back home safely. They can call the helpline (toll-free number 1091) from “anywhere anytime” to make use of the service.The helpline personnel will carry out night patrols at the KSRTC, mofussil bus stations and the Kozhikode railway station.
